Complex divorces fall within two categories:
In a complex case involving significant assets, the parties can still use a Mediator to facilitate settlement. The litigation costs need not be extensive. Our office is experienced in mediating handling high asset cases and enjoys an excellent track record of successfully resolving these cases to both parties’ satisfaction, while keeping legal fees to a minimum.
In high conflict cases, the parties will usually be in court numerous times during the divorce. Often times, a judge will order a psychological evaluation to help resolve custody and visitation issues or will order a special master to help resolve financial disputes.
If you believe your divorce will be complex, you should take steps to educate yourself on the areas that will impact you. You will need to hire a family law attorney that is experienced in the areas that are important in your case.
